Fixed layout e-pub for reading on your phone or tablet

Unlike regular e-pubs, the ‘fixed layout’ is derived from and mimics the exact layout of each page of a printed publication.
View these documents on your phone, tablet or computer screen. Turn pages, zoom in, view full screen, navigate using thumbnails, add sound and interactive elements!
This type of document can be viewed on desktops (using a free reader) and mobile devices like iPads and iPhones.
Download this example of a ‘fixed layout’ e-pub on to your tablet or phone, and try it out. Please feel free to call us to discuss your specific needs.

See a four-page sample of Bassendean Briefings Issue 98 Aug-Sept 2014. It will open in a new window or tab. There's a bunch of files to do all of this, but if you'd like us to post one of these on a website we have built for you, it's easily done. Or we can send you a package for your web developer to put up.

Interactive pdfs

If you would like to deliver a publication to your clients by email instead of printing it, then you might like our interactive pdf format. It is a self-contained file and only requires the free Adobe Reader. Users can also read this type of document offline. Internal navigation links enhance the user's experience and there are other options including fill-in forms.

A couple of examples are shown here. The Waste and Recycle Conference 'Call for Papers' has website-like buttons on every page to allow you to read the next or previous page, or jump straight to the Contents page where you can find links to all of the articles (you'll have to download the file to your computer to see these work).

As well as this, wherever website and email addresses occur in the text, they have been made into 'live' links.

The LGMA Golf flyer example is designed to be read on-screen. It has 'live' website and email links and can be printed on an office printer. The LGMA membership flyer demonstrates the use of website-like navigation and 'full-screen' mode. You'll need to download the file to your computer to see the full effect.

If you'd like to know more about interactive pdf documents, please give us a call.

This is a very economical way to display your published documents on your own website. Only two files need to be posted.
You can include all or only some of the document, making this format ideal as a promotional 'sampler' to increase your readership.
The book can be presented in single pages or page spreads with a 'page turn' navigation link in the upper and lower corners (click in the top or bottom corner).
Document pages can be scaled to a range of sizes, depending how readable you want them to be. Not recommended for iPad or iPhone.
